Squirtle is a Water-type Pokémon, first introduced in Pokémon Red and Blue, that evolves into Wartortle and then Blastoise. This “Tiny Turtle Pokémon” is known for its hard shell, which it uses for defense, and its ability to shoot water from its mouth. It is one of the three starter Pokémon available to trainers at the beginning of a Kanto-region journey.

Evolution
Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at level 16.
Wartortle then evolves into Blastoise at level 36.
