Charmander is a small, bipedal, Fire-type reptilian Pokémon with a flame on the tip of its tail that indicates its health and mood. It is one of the original starter Pokémon from the Kanto region, evolving into Charmeleon at level 16 and then into Charizard at level 36.

Abilities
Charmander’s main ability is Blaze, which boosts the power of its Fire-type moves when its health is low. Its strengths include its high Speed stat, the ability to breathe fire, and a diverse movepool as it evolves, allowing it to learn powerful attacks like Flamethrower and Flare Blitz. It can also use moves that lower the opponent’s stats, such as Leer and Growl, to gain an advantage. 

Appearance and features 
Body: A small, orange, lizard-like Pokémon with a cream-colored underside and feet. 
Tail Flame: A flame constantly burns at the tip of its tail from birth. 
Health Indicator: The flame burns brightly when it’s healthy, weakly when it’s exhausted, and will go out if the Pokémon is very sick, though this is said to cause death. 
Mood Indicator: The flame flickers when happy and blazes when enraged. 
Weaknesses: Water, Ground, and Rock-type attacks. 
Environmental Preference: Prefers hot, mountainous areas and can be found more often with trainers. Steam is said to spout from its tail in the rain.  
Evolution 
First evolution: Evolves into Charmeleon at level 16. 
Second evolution: Evolves into Charizard from Charmeleon at level 36.
